Thanks to Wycombe Wanderers SET and Red Kite for joining us in sending Eid gifts to local children!
For a month over the lockdown, Seerah Today gathered and distributed parcels of children’s clothes to the people of High Wycombe who needed them. The effort was in order to take pressures off the recycling centres and also to give struggling families some relief. Thank you to Tom Garraway who managed this initiative and to all our deliverers who took them sometimes quite far afield to get to where they needed to be!
Now the lockdown is now at an end Seerah Today will be stopping our regular food parcel deliveries to the vulnerable and the needy in High Wycombe. We want to thank all our volunteers and those who have donated. Hopefully we have made a positive difference to the people of High Wycombe over these past difficult months.
Seerah Today continues to provide emergency food parcels through references from agencies. We also are keeping in contact with especially vulnerable people who will continue to need our services.
We are pleased to announce that Seerah Today is now a fully registered Charity. Number: 1190184
- ‘O people! We have created you from a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes that you may know one another.’ The whole of humanity has been created with mercy; by the Merciful. Each soul has witnessed the Eternal Light. And then we descend; and as we do we are dressed in a material self and cultural identity. These visible identities come in varieties as beautiful as the varieties of fruit we eat and the birds that adorn the skies. They are a signpost back to the One who created us. Love one another; you are from the same Source. Do not envy one another and do not hate one another. The Prophet taught us; We do not oppress. We do not fail each other. We do not lie and we do not hold each other in contempt. The whole of a Muslim is inviolable for another Muslim. He said; piety is right here and he pointed to his chest three times. This means your heart is your mouthpiece to Allah; do not muffle it; keep it pure by respecting and honouring His humanity then He may hear your voice more clearly when you call to Him. On 26th March, Seerah Today celebrated Sadaqa Day with For the Love of Bikes. The Bikers brought us some donation for our food parcels and created a bit of much needed street theatre at this sometimes sombre time.
This juma message is given to the Shaykh by inspiration of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وسلم and draws on many beautiful sources. It will speak to you; whoever you are.
‘Do not cry and fear the death of your body. If you do then your soul is suffering by your bad nature. But when you are in remembrance of Allah then the light enters your heart and then you enter a state of spiritual ecstasy. You immerse yourself in the sea of knowledge and wisdom and are blessed by Allah. Your heart cries in the worship of Allah, He fulfils all your dreams, wishes and blesses you much more than you could ever imagine. His bounties are endless and He brings you closer to him; raising you to a higher spiritual station. By committing sins and disobeying Allah, any of your good intentions won’t be fulfilled and whatever you fear most will befall you. Juma Mubarak’ Shaykh Tahir
